I’ve been meaning to contact you about the shocks you sent for the front of my Model A pickup, but frankly I wanted to wait and see if they were as good as I thought they were as a first impression. Well after a little over 5,000 miles I can say they are.
My Model A is a late ’31 with a steel roof and the wide pickup bed. It’s been a hot rod since I got it in 1965 and has had a variety of engines, transmissions and rearends; it now has a Flathead, a three speed overdrive and a quick-change. In all that time the truck has never really been finished, but for the past twenty plus years its been driven daily, and I have to confess it shows it.
Along with all the changes it has undergone, there have been a variety of suspension alterations over the years, mainly due to my decreasing ability to tolerate the rough ride I thought was normal for a hot rod when I was a kid. I’ve changed springs, there are boxes of shock absorbers in my shop that were tried, but none of them have worked as well as the Aldan single adjustables that are on it now. Granted it doesn’t ride like a new car, but it’s as good as a solid axle gets.
Thanks for building such a great product.
