Larry –
My single adjustable kit didnt include the upgrades all yhe videos show, so i bought them after opening the kit. I cannot find any clear guide on how the adjustment for the single adjustment shocks work. Is it a compression adjustment or rebound? Good parts, wish there was more clear guidance online. Also which springs for which ls swap?
Aldan Support Team –
Hi Larry, I apologize for any confusion regarding the kit upgrades.
For the 1970-1981 Front single adjustable shock guide, please refer to this guide: https://aldanamerican.com/wp-content/uploads/instruction-pdf/X-0012,%20Road%20Comp%20Front%20Coilover%20Installation%20Guide.pdf
The adjustment for this kit is made using a compression knob. To adjust the compression damping, turn the adjuster knob counterclockwise to soften it or clockwise to increase the damping. The knob can be turned continuously without a stop. When number 1 is at 12’ocklock position, that is the softest setting, number 6 is the stiffest setting.
For LS Swap applications, we recommend using 450lbs springs for aluminum blocks and 550lbs springs for iron blocks or if you have made substantial upgrades to the car.
We acknowledge your frustration with the guides and are actively working on updating our instruction sheets and online resources to simplify the installation process. Additionally, all our kits come with a card that includes a QR code, which can be scanned to access the instruction database.
Thank you for your understanding.
