Third-Gen Chevrolet Chevelle Coilover Kit
Years: 1973-1977
The third-generation Chevrolet Chevelle was larger than the second-generation models they replaced. While still riding on the same 112-inch wheelbase, the 1973 Chevelle coupe was more than five inches longer and more than one inch wider than the 1972 models.
Whether starting with an SS or building another Chevelle model, an Aldan American four-corner suspension package is a definite improvement. The kits are 100% bolt-on with no cutting, drilling or welding required for an easy installation.
Our billet aluminum shocks are adjustable, so you can tune the suspension to match your driving style. Plus, with Aldan American adjustable spring perches, you can lower the front ride height of your Chevelle by up to 2.0-inches.

Aldan American Chevrolet Chevelle Suspension Upgrades
Due to a factory strike, the introduction of the new third-gen Chevelles (as well as the new Nova and Monte Carlo) were delayed from 1972 to 1973. Previously standard only on the SS and the Heavy Chevy, every 1973-1977 Chevelle came standard with front disc brakes.
Check the Z15 box on the order form for the SS package, which was essentially a trim upgrade but included heavier roll bars and rally wheels. For 1973 only, the Chevelle could be ordered with the LS4 454 CID 245 HP big block and a Muncie close-ratio M21 four-speed.
Other performance options included Positraction limited slip differential and the F40 heavy-duty and F41 sport suspension packages, depending on model year.
In the 2011 motion picture “Drive,” Ryan Gosling’s character drives a 1973 Chevelle.
