The third-gen Chevrolet C10 was the first pickup truck that GM had developed in a wind tunnel. The goal was to reduce drag and increase fuel economy. While Chevrolet called the design “Rounded Line,” enthusiasts tagged it with the name Square Body.
An excellent update for your third-gen C10 is an Aldan American coilover suspension conversion kit. The kit includes single adjustable coilover shocks, Aldan springs, POL upper and lower tubular control arms, ball joints, brackets, hardware and more.
This complete kit is designed to work with the OEM cross members and converts the front suspension to fully adjustable coilover shocks with tubular control arms. Each is a 100% bolt-on kit and does not require any cutting or welding to install. Plus, with adjustable spring retainers, you can lower ride height by up to 2.0-inches to get the stance you want.

Chevrolet C-10 Suspension Upgrades
The 1973-1987 Chevrolet C10 was powered by various engines, ranging from inline- and V-sixes, small blocks ranging in displacement between 305 CID to 400 CID, and the big block 454 CID V8. Two diesel engines were also offered — Oldsmobile 350 CID and Detroit Diesel V8s.
The third-generation C10 range included a four-door crew cab alongside the traditional two-door pickup for the first time. As with the previous generation, the 1973-1987 C10 was also the basis for the Blazer and Suburban full-size SUVs
