Fourth-Gen Pontiac Grand Prix Coilover Kit
Years: 1978-1987
The fifth-generation Pontiac Grand Prix was downsized in several ways. Not only was the personal luxury coupe now based on the shorter, narrower and lighter G-Body platform, but for the first time, the standard engine was downsized to a 3.8 L Buick V6.
However, from 1978 through 1981, the Grand Prix could be ordered with “the last” Pontiac V8 – a 301 CID motor originally developed for Trans Am racing. Suspension was by coil springs front and rear. The Rally RTS option package included faster steering, a larger 32 mm front sway bar, a 22 mm rear bar, and firmer bushings for improved handling and response.
Choose an Aldan American coilover suspension package to upgrade your 1978-1987 Pontiac Grand Prix. We offer separate front and rear adjustable coilover conversions that you can order together or separately. Plus, with our adjustable spring perches, you can lower the ride height of your 1978-1987 Grand Prix by up to 3.0-inches.
Check out the ultimate suspension upgrade that includes high-strength tubular control arms with revised geometry to improve handling and control. Aldan also offers a brace to reinforce the rear shock towers. Each of our kits is 100% bolt-on with no cutting, drilling or welding required for an easy installation.
