Mike Miller | 1966 Mustang

Mike Miller from Lakewood, CA, spent 42 years working at Pennzoil, now Shell oil. Since his retirement, he has been afforded more time to restore a 1966 Ford Mustang and attend local car shows with his club, the SOCAL Chariots.

This isn’t his first Mustang; he was inspired to give a new life to the 66 as it reminded him of his first car, a 1965 Mustang.

He eventually traded up in 1970 for a 70’ Boss 302 that caught his eye when coming home from work one evening. Miller would eventually sell the Boss 302 to start a family and raise two children.

He would still cruise Southern California in his 1972 Chevrolet Monte Carlo; it had more legroom for the family. May of 2017, he decided it was time for another Mustang and acquired a 2017 California Special Mustang. This didn’t quite scratch his Mustang itch, and he eventually found his ’66 Mustang for restoration.

After completing the 1966 Mustang has become a common sight at SoCal Chariot meets, but that has not stopped him from taking his 1972 Buick Skylark 455 car out every once and a while.
