Regardless of which suspension is fitted to your Silverado, an excellent upgrade is an Aldan American coilover suspension conversion kit. The kit includes Road Comp single adjustable coilover shocks and linear rate Aldan springs. Each is a 100% bolt-on installation that does not require cutting or welding. Plus, with adjustable spring perches, you can lower ride height by up to 2.0-inches to get the stance you want.

Aldan American C1500 Lowering Kits & Suspension Upgrades
From 1990-1993, Chevrolet offered the high-performance 454SS version of the C1500. As its name implies, it was powered by a 7.4 L (454 CID) big block V8. It started the Muscle Truck category, soon followed by the Ford SVT Lightning and the Dodge SS/T.
Initially developing 230 HP, further development raised engine output to 255 HP beginning with the 1991 model year. However, 405 lb-ft of big block torque enabled the 1991 454SS to hit 60 MPH in 7.2 seconds.
The rarest of all 454SS trucks were the 843 produced for the 1993 model year.
Aldan American 1988-1998 Cheverolet C1500 coilover kit is designed to work with the C1500 front cross member and converts the front suspension to fully adjustable coilover shocks and springs. Each kit is a 100% bolt-on installation that does not require cutting or welding. Aldan kits can also be used with factory or aftermarket control arms. Plus, with adjustable spring retainers, you can lower ride height by up to 2.0-inches to get the stance you want.
